Microneedling
What Is Microneedling and How Does It Work?
Microneedling is a procedure in which a device is pressed into the skin, creating pinpricks to stimulate the body’s natural healing response. As part of the natural healing process, the production of collagen and elastin is encouraged. This tightens the skin along with improving concerns like:
- Hyperpigmentation and sun spots
- Fine lines and wrinkles
- Stretch marks
- Large pores
- Acne scars
- Scarring
We can use microneedling for areas of the body like the face, neck, décolletage, and even legs. Microneedling treatment is safe for all skin types and tones.

Effective Microneedling Treatment Using the Latest Technology
At Hove Center for Facial Plastic Surgery, we use the Secret PRO by Cutera® to combine fractional CO2 laser technology and RF microneedling in a single device. Together, these two factors work to treat the full thickness of the skin by performing skin resurfacing and deep dermal remodeling for superior results.
Your Microneedling Appointment What You Can Expect
Results and Maintenance
There's no downtime after your procedure, but you may experience side effects like:
- Redness
- Swelling
- Bruising
- Discoloration
These side effects are normal and should fade on their own in a few days. To make the most of your microneedling treatment, our Main Line, PA, doctor typically recommends three appointments spaced one month apart and periodic touch-ups. Final results are apparent about three to four months after treatment.
