More Reasons to Choose Our Main Line Practice
Facial Focus
At the Hove Center for Facial Plastic Surgery, we specialize only on the face and neck. This separates us from many other plastic surgery practices that perform procedures on the whole body. Our hyper-focus on the face has given us a heightened level of experience and skill, resulting in procedures of unparalleled quality. Dr. Hove’s facial surgery expertise allows him to provide patients with personalized care that achieves precise, natural-looking results.
Comprehensive Care
Our team is able to perform many plastic surgery services right here in our Main Line office. This means our patients do not have to shuttle back and forth to different specialists to receive the look they want. Our skill and experience also allows us to perform many of our procedures without the need for sedation or general anesthesia. Our comprehensive care also includes our relaxing atmosphere and compassionate staff.
Board Certification
Dr. Hove has earned board certification from the American Board of Otolaryngology. Board certification requires passing both a rigorous written exam and a comprehensive oral assessment. Successful completion indicates specialized knowledge and abilities regarding face and neck science, surgery, treatment, and more. A certified surgeon must prove their commitment to otolaryngology by meeting continuing requirements every year.
Hear From One of Our Blepharoplasty Patients
"I've never written a thank you note to a doctor before, but every time I look in the mirror I'm so happy with the way I look that I had to send you my heartfelt gratitude for my new eyes. Your kindness, patience, and caring manner went above and beyond what one would expect of a surgeon. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend you to anyone who asks. I appreciate the honesty, understanding, and professionalism you afforded me from my initial consultation through the procedure and beyond." Rose B., Downingtown, PA
How Much Do "New" Eyelids Cost?
The cost of eyelid surgery depends on what type of anesthesia is used.
If you need help budgeting for blepharoplasty, you can inquire about financing through CareCredit®. The program helps break the total cost of surgery into affordable monthly payments. Dr. Hove and his team will answer any questions you may have.
Preparing for Blepharoplasty
Dr. Hove conducts thorough preparation and planning for each eyelid surgery. First, he assesses your medical history to make sure there are no unexpected obstacles during treatment, and to ensure you are a good candidate for blepharoplasty. It is also very important to him that he understands what you aim to achieve with eyelid surgery. This gives him insight into the type of eyelid crafting to recommend, and to set accurate expectations.
Our doctor may also perform a comprehensive eye exam. This tests the form and function of your eyelids, assesses your visual field, and provides important photographs to help guide surgery. Collectively, this analysis can be used to provide compelling documentation to your insurance company, potentially supporting an insurance claim for your procedure if it is deemed medically necessary.

The Eyelid Surgery Procedure
Upper Eyelid Surgery
Over time, the upper eyelids become heavy and start drooping, giving the face a tired or even an angry appearance. By strategically removing a safe amount of excess skin and soft tissue from the upper eyelids, Dr. Hove restores a rested appearance while avoiding a "surprised" look. This type of eyelid surgery is a fairly quick procedure with a short recovery.
After numbing the upper eyelid skin, an incision is hidden in the natural crease from the inner to the outer corner of the eyelid. Excess skin and loose soft tissue are removed. Sutures are used to close the incision.
Even as a stand-alone procedure, upper eyelid rejuvenation can provide life-changing results.
Lower Eyelid Surgery
When most people think of problems affecting the lower eyelids, they think about bags under the eyes. This area is complex and this type of eyelid surgery can be performed in different ways. Sometimes the lower eyelid skin just needs to be tightened or resurfaced; sometimes excess fat needs to be removed; sometimes both approaches are required to provide patients with the best results.
During this type of eyelid surgery, incisions can be made on the inside of the eyelid or hidden below the eyelashes. This allows the incision site to remain hidden during recovery. Lower eyelid surgery can be performed under local anesthesia in the right circumstances. In such cases, patients can experience a quick recovery from their eyelid surgery.
Experience Safe and Effective Surgery Choose Our Board-Certified Surgeon Serving the Main Line
It's typical for patients to experience mild bruising and swelling after their procedures, but complications like shortness of breath and vision problems can develop on rare occasions. The chances of these complications developing are significantly lower when choosing a board-certified plastic surgeon like Dr. Hove serving Philadelphia's Main Line. He can safely and effectively remove the excess fat and skin around your eyes for a more alert and youthful appearance.
Dr. Hove will always be transparent about the risks involved in procedures, and he won't recommend anything if he thinks complications could arise. Contact our Paoli office to learn more about this procedure:

How Long Do Results Last?
The longevity of blepharoplasty results can vary from patient to patient; however, you can generally expect upper eyelids to retain their youthful appearance for five to seven years and lower eyelids to retain their appearance permanently. If you notice your upper eyelids starting to sag again, you could benefit from a second blepharoplasty surgery or a brow lift.

Dr. Hove is amazing! He takes his time with you and really aims for perfection. Highly recommend!
View on GoogleI recently had corrective plastic surgery done by Dr. Hove and I am very happy with the result. My case involved the cosmetic repair of my forehead above my right eye after cancer surgery. Many of his older patients looked 10 to 15 years younger after having their wrinkles and sagging skin tightened up. I highly recommend Dr. Hove to anyone who needs cosmetic plastic surgery.
